The Proposal

From Hai:

"Black Friday was when I decided to propose to Judy. My plan was to fly one of her best friends Gloria down from Virgina to surprise her, with my Best Man Tony.

For weeks, Judy kept asking when we were going to visit Tony and Kimmy. I kept saying 'later' because I planned for them to come down after Thanksgiving for the proposal. After dinner, I brought my mom home, and came back to Judy's to bring her Black Friday shopping. My plan was to keep her up as late as I could so I could have the excuse to sleep in on Friday.The next morning, I woke up, excited and nervous. I picked Gloria up from the airport, picked up my order of flowers, then drove to Lake Eola. We walked the whole circle to find the best spot for the proposal (Note: Gloria has a cast on her foot, haha), and later met up with Tony and Kimmy. The three of them grabbed some drinks at a nearby restaurant while I went to go pick up Judy. I was nervous that Gloria would get drunk before we arrived...

Judy woke up late and took so long to get ready! Waiting outside her house, I was shaking because I was so nervous something would go wrong....then Tony text me saying "Kim's water broke," and had to bring her to hospital. I had a feeling that he was joking so I called Gloria, and she told me the same story! I got scared....but knew it was a joke. (Thought you were on my side, Gloria! This joke didn't make me feel better!)

It was time. Judy got into the car, and asked what our plans were...I told her we were going to D&B. I drove towards Lake Eola, and messaged Gloria and Tony to let them know we were coming. While leading her towards the spot, Judy kept looking at the swans, and street art (Judy- "I did it on purpose! =p). Finally, we got to the spot, and I sat Judy down and blindfolded her. I guess, she already knew what was happening (she always knows). I got down on one knee with Tony, Kimmy, and Gloria behind me taking pictures, while people in the park stopped to watch. I held her hand, and told her to open her eyes, She saw Tony with flowers, Kimmy, and Gloria, and started to cry... I popped the question and she said yes!!...WEEE AWESOME MOMENT.

I felt so proud of myself that I made these plans, and my girl said 'yes.' She was so happy. The whole night was so wonderful. We went out to celebrate our engagement with people we love the most. Thanks to Tony, my Best Man, Gloria, Judy's Maid of Honor, Chris and Kimmy for everything.

From Judy:
"It was just another Friday with Hai. I woke up late from Black Friday shopping in the AM, and from recovering from the Thanksgiving feast. It was about 1:00pm, and Hai said he was on his way, so I took a shower, and got ready (while dancing to Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"). Eventually, I was out the door, and Hai said we'd spend the day at Dave & Busters- my favorite place! (I'm addicted to the machine where you "strategically" drop a coin and watch the metal piece push the coins to no where, haha)
He drove a different route that I wasn't use to, but figured maybe he was going somewhere first. Instead, we pulled up next to Lake Eola where he led me down the path surrounding the lake. We sat down, and he said "I have something to show you, but I'm going to blindfold you first..." Hai blindfolded me with his tie, took both my hands. and made me stand up. The entire time, I was thinking..."it's going to happen!!"...he took my blindfold off, and there he was, on bended knee. We weren't alone though...Hai flew in my best friends, my Maid of Honor to be, Gloria (who was wearing a cast on her leg by the way, haha), all the way from Virginia!!!! He also invited his Best Man, Tony and his girlfriend Kimmy (who was glowing with a baby on the way!). I was so overwhelmed and shocked, I balled my eyes out, as a crowd formed around us (most of which were homeless people, haha), and witnessed this unforgettable moment in my life.

This led to a celebration at Vines Grille & Wine Bar filled with great food, live entertainment, good laughs, and a server who developed a bromance with Tony.
It was perfect.
